merry (late) christmas and happy (early) new year!!

hope you all had an amazing christmas/boxing day! mine really couldn't have been better!
I went up to morrinsville in the Waikato (New Zealand) and saw ALL of my extended family on dads family. I know this is such a boring and obvious thing to say but they have all grown so much! we went on a lights tour on the eve, drive around looking at strangers lights, and they were beautiful! I had never seen anything like it!
we had a relaxed Christmas Day and just played games. perfect.
on Boxing Day the fun really began we went the races only to be completely rained out and then onto Ragland where we(I) surfed the shops and ate dinner at an old fish and chip shop on a old pier!

well here's a cute way of spoiling the feline in your life.

scavenge a sock you don't mind cutting up, a handful of pillow stuffing and a small handful of catnip.

get your stuffing and stretch it out, put the catnip in the middle.

pull the wool around the catnip and roll it around a bit until you can't see any catnip.

cut the toe off the sock and place the ball inside. * remember to add about an inch as well as the set toe*

neatly fold the extra fabric to make a pillow.

sew it up

and you are done! to make it prettier add a bow, embroid or add some patches

howdy ladies and gents,
today I came up with an idea, the first holiday themed idea you'll find on my blog.
the idea- the twelve gifts of christmas
so christmas is the giving season, is it not, and a time for everyone to get stressed, very stressed in my mums case! this is my idea to relieve some pressure with twelve cute, quirky and most of the time original gift ideas!

first up here's a gift for a budding chef, flatter or baker.
track down a LARGE mug, some small colourful kitchen tools or anything else that tickles your fancy, a big bow and to make it all a bit more festive a couple of candy canes
you then artistically arrange the items and candy cane in the mug and tie the ribbon around it!
viola your done!
